Job Description:
Fleet Maintenance Manager Position Overview: Our client, a
leading company in the waste hauling and recycling industry, is
currently seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to
oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of their vehicle
fleet. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible for
ensuring all vehicles are in top condition, meet safety standards,
and are compliant with all regulatory requirements. This role is
critical for minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of
daily operations.
Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all
fleet vehicles, a core responsibility of the Fleet Maintenance
Manager.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce
vehicle breakdowns and extend the lifespan of the fleet, under the
supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Manage a team of technicians and mechanics, providing leadership
and training as required by the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Oversee the inventory management of spare parts and supplies,
ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness, as directed by the
Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Collaborate with other operational departments to align fleet
availability with business needs, a strategic function facilitated
by the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations in
the maintenance and operation of the fleet, a critical duty of the
Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Analyze maintenance data and compile reports on fleet performance
and costs, providing actionable insights as the Fleet Maintenance
Manager.
Manage the budget for the maintenance department, ensuring
efficient use of resources as guided by the Fleet Maintenance
Manager.
Proven experience as a Fleet Maintenance Manager, preferably within
the waste management or transportation sector.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and vehicle
maintenance practices.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to
manage multiple tasks and teams effectively.
Proficiency in fleet management software and systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a
Fleet Maintenance Manager to interact with staff and external
suppliers.
Technical certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Automotive Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.
